Sneak Peek into The Seduction of the Glen!

Instead, his winsome brother was able to spread his charm about like leaves dancing off the trees in the autumn wind. Many a lass had fallen to that boyish charm, and John feared Aislynn might be among those numbers.
‘Twas foolish for him to think the lass should fall for his brother’s charms, especially as she still saw herself as a prisoner (one who just tried to escape again, into the MacKay land no less!), but he had to admit he was feeling defeated.
At first, when the king suggested the brothers try to wed the English rose, ‘twas more folly and a chance to be aligned with royal blood and earn favor with the king. For John and his brother, that alone was enough to compete for.
Then he saw the lass and realized more was at stake. When she stepped into the King’s study, every bit of air fled the room, and John’s heart slammed in his chest. He didn’t know if brother experienced the same effects, and truth be told, John didn’t care. When he escorted Aislynn to her chambers, he hoped to impress her, show her a wild Highlander can be a civilized man.
His impassioned sentiments for the lass grew when his gaze fell on her noble form in her riding gown, the light catching her in a way that made her almost glow in the pale beams of the sun. If he had to pick a moment, one single moment where he knew deep in his heart, deep in his soul, that he wanted Aislynn for more than the riches of Kings that came with her, ‘twas that moment. And his stinking brother had been the one on her arm.
Etan and John reached the dim hallway leading to his chambers. Settling into a threadbare chair near the over-sized hearth, John watched as Etan stoked the fire to warm the night chill from the room, then departed. John slouched, trying to ignore the throbbing in his shoulder. He unwrapped the plaid from his shoulders and poked at the stitches. ‘Twould be a rough night’s sleep, not that he planned on sleeping much with his fervent thoughts continually returning to Aislynn.
